THE FOUNDATION

Not just stainless steel.

For us, jewellery isn't only about how it looks. The material underneath matters just as much.

That's why we choose 316L Stainless Steel as the foundation of our jewellery. It is a specific grade of stainless steel known for its good corrosion resistance.

For selected gold pieces, we combine this foundation with an 18K Gold PVD finish.

What does 316L actually mean?

316L is a specific grade of stainless steel. It isn't simply another name for stainless steel.

One important part of the alloy is molybdenum. This contributes to its resistance to corrosion, including when the material is regularly exposed to moisture.

The letter L refers to its low carbon content. Together, these properties make 316L a strong material choice for jewellery designed to be worn regularly.

WHY 316L?

Made to be worn.

Three reasons why 316L forms the foundation of DLN Jewellery.

01

Corrosion resistant

316L is known for its good resistance to corrosion, making it a strong foundation for jewellery designed to be worn regularly.

02

From everyday outfits to nights out, 316L provides a practical foundation for jewellery you'll want to wear often.

03

Deliberately chosen

We don't simply use the description stainless steel. For our current collection, we specifically choose 316L as the foundation.

GOLD FINISH

What is 18K Gold PVD?

A selection of our gold jewellery features a 316L Stainless Steel base with an 18K Gold PVD finish.

PVD stands for Physical Vapor Deposition. It is a coating process in which material is applied to the surface of the metal.

The technique is used to create a durable surface finish and can be more durable than various traditional forms of gold plating.

i

Good to know: 18K Gold PVD does not mean the jewellery is made from solid 18K gold. It refers to the gold surface finish.
